26th August

Apologies for those of you waiting for the new site to launch.....I have come to the conclusion that software designers and developers operate on a 72 hr daily clock i.e. they take three times longer to complete than they estimate! It's not an emergency or anything because we already have a nice site but we do need extra functionality, direct cams, slick phone chat module to cater for all your sexy phone chat requirements....and all of this is being built as we speak. So one lesson I have just learned is to treble any estimated finish time relating to software development in future. Now the self flagellation is over I must just say on the positive side that the site is blisteringly fast and searches are working in fractions of a second. There will definitely be no waiting on this site. The coding has been done with a medium specified server in mind but of course we are also able to move to a beefier server when needs demand. It's actually a good test for a coder because any monkey can look good on the highest spec server but only skilled technicians can achieve it on an average platform. We are also in discussions with friends about some other exciting developments including live feeds and a top notch big brother style porn studio. The details are still being discussed but it all bodes well. I absolutely promise now that the new site will be ready to take over as a beta version from this one by September 5th. In the meantime it's great to see activity levels increasing each day. We don't claim to be the biggest or the best or have the most members yet but it's definitely part of our business plan. For those of you who think it's easy to do all this stuff, nothing could be further from the truth and in a funny way I find it brings me closer to understanding the logistical problems that very large sites can have. We are not new to the adult industry but some of the challenges are new ones and it's great fun learning how to overcome them. I will get around to a members count and update the figures but just been focusing elsewhere on traffic and testing. The new blog looks great and we will also be allowing people to promote themselves as much as they like as long as it's not abused. Sorry you can't yet see any of the new stuff but it's getting closer.

Pre-emptive strike (ha ha).....2 top coders and a designer have been working around the clock but we will not make the 18th deadline for the new site. The increased levels of advertising start on 18th August but my best guess is the site will be ready on 25th August. Funny thing is that once you get into the technology and see what these guys have achieved there is NOTHING in the adult industry that comes even close. This new recoded and redesigned site will change the way the adult industry does business and raise the bar to new unseen levels! Keep the signing up because it's all automatically transferred to the new site......sorry for the short chat but it's back to work now.

4th August

New site will be ready for 18th and will include all the goodies you want and best of all the site has been designed for speed. Using high tech programming this site is blisteringly FAST and once you see it you will be blown away. Advertising is also being ramped up from 18th when the new site launches. As mentioned on 29th July (below) we are also moving in a slightly different direction now and I personally cannot wait for the finishing touches to be added. Someone asked me the other day why the site domain name has been around a while and how come we have many backlinks. The answer is simple......We planned this more than 18 months ago, purchased some domain names, started link building and had the original site on a redirect so it was never actually visible while it was being developed. The last few months has been an interesting learning experience and truthfully some of the things we hoped would work well have not while others have performed well but we have very much focused on adding profiles whereas now we bring it all together properly. We are making some further changes that will be really beneficial to all users of the site but will announce them a couple of days prior to launch. It's strange but I have to keep rewriting these words and toning down my enthusiasm because I am am so confident now that we will have the KILLER application live from the 18th August (and yet I don't want to appear arrogant because we would never really be like that). So I slap myself and douse my head in freezing cold water to calm me down for another week and a half! By the way, guys please keep adding profiles with tasteful pics as we will not be showing your "pride and joy" on the front page of the site (inside we will of course).

Seriously, now I have fully recovered from the demands of a busy job I can only just sit back and admire the new website (not live yet)....it is BREATHTAKING! absolutely AWESOME! sorry you have to wait another week or so yet.....

The rebranding is well underway now and we think the site redesign looks awesome (in the sense of functionality, user friendliness, search engine friendliness etc). You cannot see it yet as it's still on a local server. We are most definitely not trying to design the next Penthouse or Playboy website with all the gizmos and special effects under the sun. As good as sites like that are, we do not have their budget and we also have to rely more on good search engine rankings to achieve our targeted audience and sites like that NEVER rank well for many reasons. It's funny but at the moment in the adult escort industry I quite like punternet.com and although the site is not the prettiest in the world it works very well and is really simple, which I believe is partly why it's been so successful.

I'm sure over the years Galahad has had all the flash web designers in the world trying to sell all sorts of glam and glitzy stuff but in my view the right thing has been done in resisting such drastic change from something that appears to me to work well.......Why on earth am I saying nice things about one of my competitors?.....yes I was about to delete this post.... but then thought what the hell! because if you can't face up to the truth you simply cannot move forward (and continual improvement and moving forward is what we intend to do).

It's funny also that at the moment the adult industry (including us) have gone mental on optimising for the keyword "Adultwork" and variations on it....ha ha....well the reason we do this is because if you want to be successful you have to mimic successful people and no one can say that adultwork has not been a resounding success over the previous few years. Of course this is only one word out of hundreds of other solidly ranking keywords. We have picked up some really nice people along the way and formed some great new relationships but the time is approaching for us to move in a slightly different direction over the coming months so we may ease back on the adultwork optimisation (which I'm sure will make them like us even more). Can't say too much yet about future plans as don't want to let all the secrets out of the bag. Suffice to say much of what we do is guided by genuine user comments and seriously constructive suggestions. Got to shoot off now as having a few pints down the local pub with Mr Galahad and Mr Adultwork! lol

22nd July 1.14am

Well finally the site redesign and coding has started and the end result is going to be rather special with the emphasis on ease of use, speed and search engine friendliness and branding will be more corporate and take in all areas of the adult industry. Having won quite a few ongoing battles we are setting our sights much higher now. Progress at attracting high quality profiles, has been magnificent and it's really endearing to have so many email chats with many well wishers who really have become aware that the industry needs more choice and also someone honest who brings a level of decency and respectability back into the genre and someone who will also be strong enough to be around for the longer term. We will be changing pricing structures and adding incentives (more on that when the rebranding and new functionality is completed). Our aim as always is to give a safe and informed working environment and to raise the status of all adult industry workers to where it should be, right up there with the very best! The site will still remain 100% free for a basic profile.

Now over 400 female profiles and around 1100 male profiles. The new team are getting stuck in to projects and familiarising themselves with workings of the sites etc Search engine rankings seem pretty good and improving slowly. Activity increasing slowly but cannot yet offer the traffic of some of the most popular named but it will come and what we are getting is very targeted. many ladies and a couple of agencies have emailed thanking us for getting their profiles ranking well in the search engines and this will continue to improve. We have some really exciting stuff around the corner on our own and a partner site. Please keep adding profiles in readiness for the impending male profiles integration. Thanks for the email proposals on partnerships and some interesting perspectives on the adult industry in general.

24th June. 2am

Site redesign in progress this next month to improve presentation and usability. We will be adding around 1,000 guys profiles and then going all out to attract guys to the site (up until now all efforts have been on attracting females and shemales). Webcam is being integrated more fully and will be pushed heavily once the site improvements are made. Direct cam also being added and already we are helping make technical improvements on existing technology. Traffic is steady at around 10,000+ page views daily but once we add the guys we expect this to double over the next three or four months and treble within 6 to 8 months. Teamed up now with some extremely bright people and we now have our own phone and sms in house facility, a team of website designers and coders and some of the cleverest internet savvy people I have ever met. We are looking at forum and chat software and may integrate something there too.

Also testing other ideas too that are not currently being used, but which we feel have great potential in the adult market....so wait and see. If anyone is already running a very successful chat board / forum and can see some synergy between what you do and what we do please get in contact with us by email in complete confidence because we are always open to possible link ups.

Finally GUYS please add your profile to our site and make it a good one in readiness for when we start showing you live within the next month..

Sorry not updated the news for too long but have had lots of contact with the members on the site. Many new profiles added and lots of guys with profiles already completed in readiness for when we switch them on! Also some really sexy shemales joined the site and the mix is exactly what we hoped for. We are very focused on building youadults.com and have deliberately kept PrettyGirlsCams.com on the back burner so far although this is about to change soon as we start to make things happen on that site too. We will be making some other additions as we add already successful sites into our youadults network to give extra variety and an even better viewing experience. There will be live 35p phone sex which is the cheapest live phone sex in the UK. There are some other services that claim to be cheaper but read the small print as the devil is always in the detail. SMS will soon be an option (yes it's taking far too long I agree and I'm fed up talking about it) the trouble is it really is hard to get genuine suppliers who really want to make things happen. Some make promises and yet when it comes to the crunch they don't deliver (sorry about the gripe) but I hate being let down.

When we show the guys profiles we will be using an entry page for that because although the ladies have been as good as gold and respected the rules on photos, we don't have the same confidence in the guys respecting dress code. Maybe I'm wrong....maybe the guys will just supply pics of themselves in clothes with no erect cocks to be seen?!?!....somehow I don't think so!!! Been incredibly busy behind the scenes (and helping some of the new joiners) but just about ready now to get phone verification and sms gateway coded and implemented as well as a method of credits payment by phone. Other finishing touches too. Now, the site is most definitely not finished as development will always be ongoing BUT it will be good enough for us to forget about design for a while and focus on adding profiles, building traffic and adding some more webcam options. This is a long term project so we are fairly relaxed and have to get priorities right to make it all sustainable. So there will be some more payment options in the next two weeks for those who want them and of course it's still free for those who do not require them. We are very happy with progress and the email box is growing massively too. Also seeing nicely increasing levels of activity between adult service providers and those seeking adult services.

Very impressed with the new security scripts we added because it's also been happening slowly  with an air of quiet calm and we have so far avoided the more troublesome minority elements of society. Very happy with the look of the site and we feel it's important to keep the index and main page free of porn as it adds a degree of class and respectability and everyone id being seen more for who they really are than just for what service they offer. Once again we are most definitely not prudes but we want to discourage people from taking extra risks on the front pages all in the name of trying to attract bookings. Besides that our views are that clothes on and respectability is highly sexy and it leaves far more to the imagination for the inner pages which can be as hardcore as you like (must still be legal of course).

Well levels of activity are definitely increasing as our name becomes known just a little bit more. Seeing quite a few daily bookings now and lots of emails zapping to and fro which is a good sign. Site wise we are not making too many cosmetic changes at the moment as focus is on tidying up the workings of what is already there. Getting lots of emails from very happy ladies who can see themselves indexed in google and ranking well in most cases. This is why it's important to fill in all of the available profile pages as well as you can because when your pages come up in the search engines and they are not filled in then the search is rather ineffective. Search engines love our sites and if you spend the time doing a good profile you will be rewarded by google. Thanks to those of you who now have our banner or text link on your site. It's important that everyone takes the time to link back to us to help us rank well in the search engines and also return some visitors for the ones we will continuously send to you. Considering there is no charge to be on the site or show your phone number etc at the moment we feel that is very reasonable to ask for a reciprocal link back.

The new security features are working brilliantly and we now know when potential trouble makers try and join the site, we also are able to check MANY important things to spot and delete cheaters, potential trouble makers, fake profiles etc. We also welcome your comments by email if you know someone is not genuine or pictures are fake then please let us know and we will investigate it.

Sorry, been busy with tidying up things that are necessary behind the scenes. Added tons more memory to help this site and the cam site because last weekend was very busy and the site was noticeably slower. We've been working a little on search page facility and for the moment we have kept it really simple. Depending on future direction will determine how that page evolves. We need to do so many things yet such as write some basic instructions for the camsite although the reason we have not done too much of this is that we are not trying to attract newbies who are new to the industry but rather people who have been around a bit and already know the basic workings of camsites.

We are still switching our existing networks over to send traffic to youadults.com but it takes a lot of time to do this properly. I think realistically it will be one to two months before all our existing traffic is pointing this way and sites are fully optimised. Love to do it quicker but simply can't short cut these things. In the meantime, we have seen emails and bookings which is great news, also increasing activity but we genuinely DO NOT expect this to get big until we hook in the guys profiles later down the line and make it more like a community site. At the moment we know most people will take a look, write down the ladies phone numbers and call them some time later and we will get no recognition for this.

Yes, it would be wonderful to get a site 100% sorted and go live and have bucket loads of visitors and a million profiles all at the same time but life isn't like that. Look at the good sites and none of them were overnight successes. We are VERY happy with progress so far but we have a long way to go and can only tell it as it is. Just remember that at the moment we are bleeding money, but it's costing you nothing to be on here so you can see we are taking the long term view and we are not fly by nights.

If you are wondering why direct cam is delayed it's because we are still very undecided on direct cam and possible partnerships. Yes it's very easy to partner and add someone now which will give immediate activity levels with cam, lots of sexy ladies already there and many males already watching BUT there simply is no way existing payouts could remain at 80% . There are just so many overheads and these increase as you rely on a third party. Well we are working hard and thinking hard too!

Today we are adding a simple search engine facility. Don't be alarmed about the fact you are all suddenly Polish! It will be defaulted to UK later this evening and the few international profiles will be updated manually. Also adding UK areas this evening and tomorrow which will need manually updating.

We are not showing the guys profiles yet because many have added no photos, and many of the photos are just erect cocks and we already decided that's NOT what we want on the main pages. So if guys are adding a profile pic now in readiness for later we are only interested in the same levels of decency that the ladies are showing i.e. can be naked, clothed, erotic but no cocks and open arses, insertions etc otherwise your profile will never be seen in the future. Pics like that would need to go inside the public or private gallery areas (NOT within the three main profile pics).

Added some really cool high tech scripts now to better deter fakers and potential trouble makers / spoilers. I won't go into great details but it's an additional extra to complement the checks we already have in keyword triggers, email verification and IP logging so we can help ensure the safest possible environment for our members.

RANT! Why is it that websites I visit always now try and sell me something by saying things like "sign up for our new promotional offering at $29.95 and we will give you a bonus of 12 books and a bonus worth $1200 of downloads just for becoming a member!" I must be getting old and senile but who has time to read 10 pages of a book let alone 12 books and how do they decide they are worth $1200? I wouldn't pay $12 for them. And then there sites the giving away "Free Tokens" or "free phone ins with an expert worth $500".....These so called internet marketing gurus have NOT GOT A CLUE in my opinion and when I check out their sites they rank either nowhere or maybe first page for some non competitive three word search term BIG DEAL! There I feel de-stressed and better now.

Webcam site PrettyGirlsCams.com crashed for a while today, apparently needs more RAM (so that's being done). We are still focusing on adding profiles and building traffic and coders just started work on search page, sms payment for credits as an alternative payment method, and looking at various other stuff being added over the coming week. Many new people signing up each day and very encouraging signs on the activity front now seeing bookings and emails zipping to and fro. Long way to go but we are deadly serious in our desire to offer another serious alternatives for adult service providers. As many of you have found out, we are contactable around the clock 24/7 and response is normally within a few hours at worst. The phone side of things is still not complete yet but will be over the coming weeks. (and now it's time for dinner!!!!)

Site front page design tidied up and made more logical. A growing site like this will always be a bit of a work in progress as we learn better ways of doing things and try to build in those improvements as we grow. Direct cam taking longer than expected but should be installed and working within another week. One of the benefits that the adult service providers are finding is that the search engines love us and when they reindex the ladies are finding their profile names and other pertinent details are indexed too and in many cases already ranking higher than their own sites. In fact quite a few ladies have been amazed at just how fast we are able to get their new profiles listed high in the search engines.....so there we are......another reason to join, add a profile and become part of the future.

This coming week we are adding direct cam for those of you who wish the immediacy of a really busy webcam site with many niches. This will enable both males, females, shemales to use what simply is the most advanced portal on the planet today. Our own cam site will also still be there alongside it and we see that more as a facility for cammers to privately interact with their clients when some notice of booking has been given. Of course it's entirely up to you how you use the two cam facilities and you can appear on one, both or none. 9th May 8.40pm - Well now we have 158 visible profiles (females and shemales who have added photos). You will soon see us in even more places as advertising kicks off big time, and lots of behind the scenes work going on too. Our priority is still to attract new profiles to enable us to be big enough to move to stage two which will be to start making some of the male profiles live and create more of a community feel. At the moment visitors are coming and going but there is not much stickiness.....don't worry though this will come for sure when we get to stage three. Don't forget that we are doing this out of love at the moment, it's all completely free to be on the site and to benefit from some of the increasing exposure. At a later stage we will turn on some of the optional chargeable functionality for people to use (only if they choose to). The site will still be FREE to use.

We are starting to see some foreign profiles and this has prompted us to take a close look at our search facility. We have programmers working on a simple regionalised search engine and will soon start to segregate countries and areas when we feel the time is right. We do NOT want this site looking like the control panel from a space rocket.......we want simple and clean, easy to navigate, so we will be hacking some parts about and adding a few others but for us we love the google search engine principle "less is better".

2nd May 2am **Both www.YouAdults.com and www.PrettyGirlsCams.com are now processing in UK POUNDS** (No longer in US Dollars. We have adjusted the rates charged but please double check we have changed them correctly across both sites). Levels of activity are increasing slowly but surely in line with expectations on two brand new sites.

28th April 4.35am - Traffic is increasing daily, see stats of a couple of our sites here. We are putting counters on some of the others as we redirect them to point to this site. We will publish the figures too. We are showing unique visits not hits. If we were showing hits it would be much higher. Advertising is increasing rapidly and we are doing some great new deals for long term exposure. Now is a perfect time to add a profile and benefit free from the new traffic sources. We did a deal with a third coder to help implement some new ideas and make sure the site continues to cope with current growth levels. In fact there are more than three times the currently viewable profiles but they are not able to be seen until they add a photograph. So it's increasing nicely each day. We are adding a few more security checking scripts to keep out the would be spoilers (can't say any more yet but VERY high tech).

19th April 6.30am - The logo has been redesigned to complement the branding style of our webcam site. The site is being pruned even further as we want to get it right now while there are not too many members. We love google so much because of its simplicity and that's exactly the model we want too i.e. totally uncluttered and easy to navigate. We will not be adding a thousand different services but one or two of the best in their field. Lots of chatting and listening to our new customers about what they really want. Our aim is to always give you a site that can cope with ever increasing speed demands. Every single picture, every word has been scrutinised and wherever possible replaced with a plain English one. The really good thing too is that at the moment we are on mid range servers so if we needed it, we have massive upgrade potential. We are adding one (possibly two) more global servers this weekend and mirroring the sites in case of ddos attack, catastrophic failure or any other issue that might try and stop our planned growth.

We have listened to many of you by email and will be removing the tick boxes "bareback" and "unprotected sex" (see FAQs 3 for full explanation). Some of you have made nice comments on design and ideas to speed up the site further the bigger it gets. We are therefore using these early days to make some site design changes that will ensure you get SPEED SPEED SPEED even when we become a successful busy site in our own right.....it will happen as sure as eggs are eggs just need time....the word is spreading....had some ace web designers give great feedback (thanks steve and dave) for the fantastic ideas which are easy to implement now.

One of you thought we looked a bit like adultwork and this is true in one or two places because we knew there was a niche just crying out for a serious competitor. Let me say that I admire what adultwork have achieved and wish I was the guy who owned it!But to answer your email (Nigel) adultwork is coded in .asp (ask a coder what he thinks of .asp).Our site is nothing like adultwork in the coding and scripting side of things and most importantly its written in .php language which is a much faster coding language. The site design was made similar in places to make migration easy but for speed reasons and because some of you wanted a new feel we are changing the couple of similar pages and by monday it will be even faster and look nothing like their site.

I did expect things to move fast but am completely stunned at the goodwill and nice comments we are receiving by the minute with what we are trying to do. Thanks for your fantastic support.

16th April 3.30am - Segpay who are the Payment Processor for YouAdults.com are now happy to process for us in UK Pounds so hopefully from 17th or 18th April we will be charging £1 for 1 credit and no longer US Dollars. There was a delay with the Australian processor and technical reasons why they could not offer UK pounds processing.

Bearing in mind that we are in an almost free period to entice people to setup a profile, the currency issue has not been hugely relevant yet as we have only been going 5 minutes and are still finalising issues such as this. As the site gets busier it will become relevant. The texting gateway side of things where you can opt to receive various texts should be sorted in the next few days. Once again it's very early days and our priority is to get new profiles on the site and increase awareness nationally and although this will take time it has started.

Just want to reiterate that one or two of you have tried adding postage stamp size pictures in your galleries. These pictures (and videos) must be value for money. We are not telling you how much to charge BUT it is not fair to put two postage stamp size pics in your private gallery and sell them for an unfair sum and it's even less fair to prospective clients if you are giving these very same pictures away elsewhere for free. At the moment we are giving the benefit of the doubt but it's only proper and fair that we set some basic rules from early on.

If you are copying your own pics from elsewhere then maybe worth contacting us for advice first because we don't really want small screen shots (maybe with their copyright name) in the pics. If this is the case ask us and with your permission we can solve the problem another way. Another reason of course is it's not fair on people purchasing your private images if on our site they are small and on another site they are large and in hi resolution. This has not been a big issue but still worth raising now.

For those of you wishing to use the cam site PrettyGirlsCams.com as an additional alternative this is funded as a separate entity ie. you cannot fund this site with any YouAdults credits but your client would have to join as a member and purchase a set value through either ccbill.com or epoch.com. Even the mighty ccbill is not really geared up to process in UK Pounds on a sophisticated cam site. If this changes then we will review how we do it.

Talking of profiles  - We have said this elsewhere but here it is again....When you upload the three main photos inside your profile edit page we want them to be tasteful, can be clothed or unclothed but we don't want the xxx obscene images in those three images and DEFINITELY NOT the top image of the three upload choices because that is the image that shows as your main profile pic. The reason we want to do this is because we feel that it gives a more balanced profile and also if granny accidentally saw the profile she would not die of a heart attack! We just don't want wide open pussy shots, spunkin, cocksucking, arse open, toys rammed in holes etc. We will remove these pics to your private gallery if we notice them and are too XXX. BUT as long as these look tasteful we are happy for anything goes in your other galleries (as long as it's legal).

Again we just want to stress that usernames and profiles should not contain reference to words such as "lo.li.t.a" or implying that someone is under the age of 18. What I will do to help is post a copy of the legalities. These are not dreamed up by us but are stricter controls that are being implemented by the major payment processors worldwide and on behalf of visa, mastercard and other card companies. So to be clear here, we are not prudes (we are pretty much unshockable) but we do have to work within the guidelines if we want to offer various payment options from highly reputable companies. I will post the guidelines tomorrow and also some interesting stuff for those of you who are into domination and bdsm services because here things are getting VERY WORRYING and I think many of you will be shocked when you read just how narrow minded our leaders are being.

Did you know for example that the word "water.sports" is not allowed? Did you know that you can show a movie of a person peeing but you are not allowed to show the movie if that person is peeing ON someone else because that is seen as degrading! There are many such examples that many of you will innocently use which could cause a problem for any adult site wishing to process with credit cards. Right, it's 3.45am and time for a bit of sleep!

14th April 4am - Well I feel like I'm getting to know some of you personally already and really grateful for the positive response. Most of you so far understand that we've only been live a few days and the advertising / marketing is just kicking in. Most of you without exception have been positive about the site functionality which we also want to keep basic and uncluttered as possible.

I did however have one lady who take a look and told me the site was "crap", and of course a few objectionable phone calls well you can't please everyone all the time so I don't take it personally. This is the downside of offering live phone help.
